Consultation
When you come to PureMD for SKINVIVE™ in Miamisburg, your trained injection specialist will first provide a free consultation to make sure you are an ideal candidate. They will discuss your goals to provide a recommendation for which injectable will best meet your needs. When this consultation is complete, you will know how much product we will be injecting and exactly what it will cost.
Treatment
Your PureMD specialist should explain the procedure and provide you with after-care directions. During the treatment multiple microdroplet injections are performed on each cheek. The injections cause minimal to no pain. Lidocaine, a common pain reliever, is an ingredient in SKINVIVE™ to keep you comfortable throughout the treatment.
Next Steps
After your treatment you can return to work and social activities immediately. For the first 24 hours following treatment you should minimize strenuous exercise, exposure to extensive sun or heat, and alcoholic beverages. Some people may need an optional touch-up.
Before SKINVIVE™ in Miamisburg, We Recommend:
- Avoid all blood-thinning medications and supplements for at least a week before your appointment. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve, garlic supplements, Vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, and omega-3 or fish oil capsules. As always, if you are taking any of these medications under the direction of a doctor, speak to him or her before discontinuing use.
- Inform us if you have a history of cold sores or Perioral Herpes before your appointment.
- Stop using topical skin products that contain retinol, glycolic acid, alpha-hydroxy acid, or “anti-aging” products at least 2 days before (and after) your fillers are injected.
- Avoid alcohol in the 24 hours before your appointment.

- Avoid touching or massaging the injection site(s) unless instructed by your specialist.
- Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours.
- Avoid direct sun exposure or excessive heat for 72 hours.
